About Our Levels

Dancio classes are organized by level to help you navigate the collection.

Our levels avoid prescribing a linear progression and are far from rigid, so feel free to give a class a try that’s a level above or below your perceived experience. In fact, a lot of our classes are crossover hits with all levels of experience. But in case you need help figuring out where to begin, here’s the guide.

Open

Open level classes have a versatile structure that welcomes movers of all levels of experience.

Beginner

Maybe you’ve taken a few classes, maybe not; if you need guidance on “what to do” you’re probably a beginner! The teachers of our beginner classes offer clear instruction and simple exercises with pointers on how to do the basics.

Intermediate

If you have some familiarity with basics but are still developing comfort with the technique, this level is right for you. In these classes, teachers assume some knowledge of basic vocabulary, but keep things straightforward to allow for progressive skill-building.

Advanced

You’re a pro or close to it! You have a clear sense of nuance and technicality and are looking to maintain technique or keep pushing forward. Teachers in these classes spend less time explaining the steps, and more time offering insights on complicated movements. Even if you don’t qualify yourself as “advanced,” giving these classes a try will keep you inspired and improving.
